Let me start off by saying congratulations on everything, Josh. You're kind of the man of the moment right now. Did you know you were getting the SBC cover?
Thanks Ben (laughs). I kinda knew about it before it came out, but was never 100% sure it was really going to happen. Andrew Norton had called me one day and asked me about the trick and said it was a contender for the next cover. From there I was just hoping for the best.
What does it mean to have the cover?
I'm fucking hyped man. I feel really lucky that things worked out the way they did. Lots of skaters will go their whole life skating and shooting photos and never get a cover. I am really happy that I made it on there.
I know you went through this a bit, but what was the process like for getting the fakie flip?
The spot is epic, huge and scary. I was warming up across the street, waiting for a cop to leave for about two hours, just doing fakie flips down a three stair. I must have done 100 (laughs). I felt pretty on point with that trick, but when I got to the top of that thing I realized it was a whole lot different than that three stair (laughs). I decided to go for it anyways. I was jumping into it a few times and started feeling pretty good. I landed on one and then I knew I had it. A few tries later I flipped the good one and went off the drop. Landing that trick was a great feeling for sure and to look over at Daver with a smile on his face made it even better!
Fakie Flip
I guess this means you are going down in NYC skate history then huh?
(Laughs) I guess so. I'm pumped on that, if people remember that trick down the road.
You also just got on Zoo York. How did that come about?
Hyped on that also. I guess it's just a mix of me, you and Raj talking and finally coming to a decision on making it happen. I've always been a fan of Zoo since I was a kid, so for me to ride for them now, pretty fucking hyped. Things seem to be going my way these days. Hope things just keep going in a positive directions.
What's it like to be on the same team as your ultra homie, Andrew McGraw? You guys still skate together all the time?
McGraw, my soldier in the battlefield (laughs). Yeah, he's the best dude, sickest skater and chill guy just to kick it with. I haven't skated with him in a little while because we didn't end up traveling together this year. In the summer we will be back on the daily shred.

You're currently in Miami. Why you there? How is the trip going?
We are a huge crew down here; Ian Twa, Chad Dickson, Max Fine, Geoff Clifford, Geoff Strelow, Mitch Barette, Homie Jo, Jack Turner. Jack is a homie who lives down here and is letting us all stay at his place. It’s a pretty sick place, on a golf course with a pool across the street. Miami living is great. The trip is going great. Had a couple beach days to let the body heal up and been skating lots of amazing spots.
What’s Miami like as a city? Spots? Night life?
Miami is amazing, so many spots and lots of cute girls around. The beaches are crazy and it's sunny everyday. Way better than Canada right now. We haven't gone out that much since we've been here, but we went to a hotel party in South Beach the other night. Partying on a balcony looking at the beach was pretty insane.
What's the plan for after the trip? Where you headed?
Back to Montreal after this for the Dimestore premiere and then skate there for a bit. I'd like to get back to New York asap, love that place. Maybe make my way out to Van City for a bit. I haven't really made any plans for the summer just yet, but I'll be around and all over. I like traveling, it keeps things fresh.
Feeble
So you are coming back to NYC soon?
Well, I'll be driving through NYC on my way back from Miami, so maybe stay for a day or so. But I really want to come stay there for a month or two this summer.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
Just keep the ball rolling; keep shooting some photos for a few different projects right now and film as much as I can to bank some footy for something maybe. I'm hyped for this year. I will be going back to Montreal just when the weather is getting nice, so I will be on top of my game for spring. I won't have to work out those winter legs this year (laughs).
Last words/Thank yous?
Thank you everyone! Way too many people to name, so just thanks all around to everyone.
